OCT	Compare the French reasons for revolution with the US Napoleon- Positive Influences on France and the World	Students will be able compare and contrast the French and American Revolutions. Students will be able to identify reasons for revolutions. Nov-Dec	Africa Then & Now 1750- present Geography of Africa, Sectionalism in US North/South African Cultures, Slavery in America and its impact, Apartheid Civil Rights Movement Plessey vs. Ferguson Jim Crow Brown vs. Board	Students will understand how the dividing of Africa, impacted the formation of that continent. Students will understand the Impact of the slave trade on both Africa and the Americas. Students will be able to compare and contrast the policy of Apartheid in South Africa, to slavery, civil rights and the treatment of Native Americans in the United States. Students will be able to explain the significance of the Jim Crow Laws, and Plessey vs. Ferguson in America.
